Our History

More than 100 years of history and experience

In times when the world is spinning faster and faster, we too have to become more and more agile, a challenge for which we are prepared, which we face anew every day.

Durability, safety, as well as individuality – these are the values customers all over the world can rely on when it comes to products from C. u. A. Heiderich GmbH. Therefore, quality at the highest level and a consistant customer orientation are our primary objectives.

1919

Founding of the company in Hagen by the cousins Carl and Albert Heiderich to manufacture small metal items such as sliding gate rollers, bicycle racks, handlebar grips, soap trays and similar products.

1921

Relocation from Hagen to the present company site in Ennepetal-Oberbauer.

1924

The product portfolio is streamlined and, from then on, only pulleys and rope blocks were produced. Concentrating on material handling technology components lays the foundation for the company’s future success.

1939

In 1928, Carl Heiderich leaves the comany. 1939 the construction of an building extension doubles the production space.

1957

Albert Heiderich retires. The business is from now on managed by his daughter Frieda Weissflog, her son Erich Weissflog and Erich Dreisbach.

1969

Planning of an in-house production of steel rope sheaves in welded design.

1973

A new production builiding can be moved into. The company C. u. A. Heiderich GmbH becomes a specialist in the field of rope sheaves.

1981

Heiderich is the first rope sheave manufaturer to carry out extensive computer-aided finite element calculations to verify possible loads.

1988

Harald Weissflog represents the fourth generation to join the management.

1989

The first CNC machine is put into operation and the first computer network is set up.

1990

Continuous expansion and modernisation of the production facilities. New business fields and markets are acquired.

2015

Presentation of the patented WEAR SAFE ® System for detecting whether the wear of the rope sheave groove has exceeded a critical limit.

2015

Introduction of the use of latest welding technologies to increase productivity and quality.

2016

Expansion and occupation of new office space.

2019
